Star Trax is a powerhouse of commercial sound mixing and is the go-to studio for many top New York ad agencies and TV networks. (There's a good chance you've heard one of their promos for a TV show within the last few days). Owner Roy Renza, who oversees his projects with a musician's ear for tone and detail, is easily one of the best mixers I've ever worked with. Buttons/NY founder Rich Macar, who started his career in digital sound working with directors like Francis Ford Coppola, is the embodiment of innovation in sound mixing. His expertise in sound for film eventually expanded to include TV, animation and advertising as well as color finishing for clients we've all heard of, while also handling a steady stream of ADR work for HBO and other film and TV producers. Today he continues to pioneer new methods for navigating a post-covid world with a fully modernized workspace for a safe and more efficient workflow.
